Titanic efforts were required on the part of builders to cut a network of corridors and dozens of rooms from a solid rock, and to fill them with various riches so necessary for a king in the afterlife.</color>

He chose that place for a reason – from such height, the king had a bird's-eye view of his domain, eternally watching over it and helping Egyptians in need. An opulent funerary estate was situated nearby, as well as a solar barque for otherworldly voyages.</color>
