Architect Nefermaat made layers of stone blocks horizontal, and because of that, the pyramid was stable and its inner chambers didn't suffer from extra pressure. However, due to huge mass and brittleness of the rock used, numerous cracks appeared on the pyramid, so the planned height had to be reduced. Thus, the shape of the pyramid became bent. Sneferu was displeased and ordered a construction of a new pyramid.</color>
